Add to that scenario, none of the family members lived in the Palm Dessert area, one actually living in Cincinnati, Ohio. Noting as well, all of the siblings were independent thinkers (senior citizens) not always in agreement on every step of the selling process. However, with the excellent assistance provided by our real estate agent Kimberly Oleson, the cherished family home was sold successfully within just three weeks, which included the listing, the showing, the negotiations, the complete move-out, and the eventual funding and distribution of proceeds. Throughout the entire process, Kimberly kept all of us informed on every step. She was competent, polite, poised, professional, caring and considerate. Being an attorney, she knew all the real estate laws, and this was an added important feature that she provided. She worked with us and for us and quickly resolved any “glitch” that did occur in the home selling process. When we needed a repair person, plumber, electrician, moving company, or donation center she provided all these needed resources. With all the restrictions due to the COVID crisis and the learning curve that needed to be mastered by four siblings that were clearly “technically challenged “, she guided us in the most attentive way through the DocuSign “paperwork” that we accomplished electronically. She provided some good recommendations and feedback for me to start my search, asked great questions and then we began to build a list of homes that I wanted to see when I visited the Valley looking at houses. She had many great houses for us to see, and different neighborhoods, and stayed within the budget I requested. She provided great feedback about the houses, pools, landscape, etc. which was helpful for me in understanding the difference between California housing to Seattle.
